Appreciation
It is easy - thanks to posts from friends and teachers around the world on social media - to be appreciative (or perhaps that should read, "reminded to be appreciative") during teacher appreciation week - at least in the US - in May.
Some of these quotes from PassItOn.com are more reflective and do not only express appreciation in the here and now, but are most relevant at natural points of reflection such as, inter alia, the end of a semester and/or the end of the school year.
I would, however, contend that rather than being appreciative of teachers during this designated week, we should express our appreciation throughout the year (and beyond) towards all those who work with and support students in our schools.
The adage, "It takes a village to raise a child", seems most apt not just on a designated day, but throughout the year.
