#233 2023 is here!

I am, as we move from one year to the next, reminded of this wonderful Graham Greene quote. Whilst it seems to me that this quote is very much related to the craft of writing, it also appears to be very apt when considering the journey of life.

Be those personal and/or professional journeys relating to that which has been achieved or when considering goals and next steps … be it at this point, or any other point, in the year.

In looking back over 2022, I reflect on multiple successes, including but not limited to securing a new position for the 2022-2023 school year and a successful relocation (as referenced in last week’s blog post entitled, A personal reflection on relocating).

In looking ahead to 2023, I am excited for a range of professional development opportunities, both formal (including attending a ECIS conference in March) as well as informal (such as school based PLCs). On a personal note, I look forward to continuing my story here in Paris, improving my French, learning more about French culture and exploring Paris further. For a range of reasons, I was - during semester one - unable to explore Paris as much as I would have liked and the list of places to visit continues to grow. Of particular interest is Splendeurs des oasis d’Ouzbékistan (a temporary exhibition) at Le Louvre and Edvard Munch. Un poème de vie, d’amour et de mort (again a temporary exhibition) at Musée d’Orsay.
