I wholeheartedly believe that the ten attributes of the IB Learner Profile apply to the whole school community and not only to the students therein. I believe the attributes of the IB Learner Profile lend themselves particularly well to formal education and, perhaps more importantly, to life-long learning and soft skills.

The notion of working collaboratively is evident in the attributes and especially so in the description for inquirers (“We know how to learn independently and with others.”), communicators, (“We collaborate effectively, listening carefully to the perspectives of other individuals and groups.”) and principled (“We act with integrity and honesty, with a strong sense of fairness and justice, and with respect for the dignity and rights of people everywhere. We take responsibility for our actions and their consequences.”).

These quotes serve as a reminder of the importance of and benefits of collaborative practice.
