As shared in my March 2021 blog post, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion [Part III], I particularly like Arthur Chan’s quote (see below) as it is concise and makes clear that practices relating to DEI/DEIB must be purposeful and with intent to render positive impact for all within our local and global communities.
I appreciate this quote as I believe it goes substantially further than another oft quoted definition of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), “Diversity is having a seat at the table, inclusion is having a voice, and belonging is having that voice be heard.” Mindful of the power of quotes, I share these quotes pertaining to DEIB as food for thought.
With the view to making belonging an outcome for all within our communities, how can we change and extend our practices to ensure diversity, equity and inclusion are the norm?
