As a follow up to last week’s blogpost entitled, Knowledge + Empathy + Action [part ii], this post offers various quotes and images to inspire us as we continue to challenge the racial inequalities and discrimination that exist in the larger community and strive to make the world a better place for all.
The quotes and images (focussing on antiracism, diversity, culture and action) may be used in multiple ways to expand our knowledge base (knowledge), increase our understanding of current and historical injustices (empathy) and give us practical ways to support and engender change (action).
Examples include:
Images and quotes displayed in classrooms and common spaces around school
Images and quotes shared via social media,
Images and quotes used as a starting point for general discussions in our classrooms about issues of social justice, inequality, BLM
Images and quotes used as a starting point in classrooms when staring to study and/or when reflecting upon particular periods in history and literature pertaining to, inter alia, The Middle Passage as part of the Slave Trade, The Civil Rights Movement.
Images and quotes used as a starting point when discussing the role of art in shaping ideas/reflecting ideas, in media design and as inspiration for art projects.

In what ways do you envisage using these images and quotes?
