With reference to Teacher Appreciation Week, I stated in my May 2018 blog post entitled Appreciation the following: “rather than being appreciative of teachers during this designated week, we should express our appreciation throughout the year (and beyond) towards all those who work with and support students in our schools.”

I stand by this statement and - in light of the pandemic - even more so this year. We see teachers and all those who support students going above and beyond to support students both academically and socially emotionally. Despite uncertainty, fear, and multiple variables, teachers and all those who make a school a safe and secure learning community are providing optimum learning for those in their care.
