Ofsted, Mental Health and Wellbeing

If you are emotionally unwell, it is really hard to learn. So this is not just about looking after children, but it is also creating the right environment for them to learn” is a quote taken from The Daily Telegraph article [22 December 2018], Ofsted is considering new assessment to ensure schools look after pupils’ mental health and wellbeing.

I very much welcome that Ofsted [The Office for Standards in Education] is proposing to include personal development (rather than, as has been the case since the early 1990s, solely a focus on academics) as part of its new Education Inspection Framework. This revised framework will - after a consultation period - take effect September 2019.
