Despite believing in the notion that things happen for a reason, I acknowledge that - when there is uncertainty and the path forward is far from clear - it can be hard to accept what is unfolding.

You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life." This extract, taken from Steve Jobs’ commencement speech at Stanford in June 2005, sums it up beautifully.

With there being much uncertainty (beyond the oft quoted Covid-19 pandemic, economic repercussions etc.,.) on the horizon with one chapter closing (leaving Malaysia after 12 years here) and a new one starting (a new job for me and university for my daughter), Cuban’s quote, “Wherever there is change, and wherever there is uncertainty, there is opportunity!" (as highlighted in my blogpost Change, Uncertainty and Opportunity from May 2020) along with Jobs’ quote and Hale’s quote (see below) are great reminders to trust in the process.
